Dr. Cava has practiced general dentistry for 37 years. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

 

He served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps as a General Dental Officer and Combat Dentist, including during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. In the Army he gave both routine and emergency dental care, often in hard conditions. Since then he has worked in several dental practices, as a dentist and in practice leadership.

 

At Oakport Dental, Dr. Cava does fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, root canals, gum (periodontal) treatment and removable dentures. He plans each treatment around the patient in the chair: what they need, what worries them, and how to keep them comfortable. He likes to see the same patients year after year and get to know them.
